Factorio BlueprintsAll nuclear reactor blueprintsSmart 2.0 Nuclear Reactors: 440 MW to 1.1 GW Blueprint Book
A book of reactors that use the 2.0 reactor readings to fuel themselves, led by a four-reactor plant and including 1.1 GW and tileable versions.

477.2 MWOutput (computed)
The plant is named 440 MW; this site computes about 477 MW, limited by its 82 turbines. The name predates the final turbine count.

The output shown is computed by this site from the blueprint itself, using normal-quality numbers from the official wiki. Each reactor makes 40 MW of heat plus another 40 MW for every fuelled reactor touching it, which is why a 2x2 block gives 480 MW and a long double row gives 160 MW per reactor minus 160 MW. A heat exchanger turns at most 10 MW of heat into steam and a steam turbine turns that steam into 5.82 MW, so the plant delivers whichever of the three totals is smallest: reactor heat, exchanger capacity or turbine capacity.
A plant is balanced when its exchangers can take all the reactor heat and its turbines can use all the steam. With normal-quality buildings that is one heat exchanger for every 10 MW of heat and about 1.72 turbines per exchanger, because one exchanger makes roughly 103 steam per second and one turbine uses 60. Compare this plant's counts with that: more turbines than needed is harmless, but too few exchangers caps the output.
Fuel cells are brought by logistic robots to requester chests next to the reactors, so the plant needs a logistic network with fuel cells in it. Used cells must be taken out as well, because a reactor holding spent cells stops accepting new ones. A fuel cell burns for 200 seconds whether or not the power is used, so the useful designs only add a cell when the reactor is cool or the steam store is low.
The plants read the reactor's temperature and fuel to decide when to insert cells, which 2.0 made possible; robots bring the fuel. The designer aimed for layouts that look good as well as work.
Besides the main plant the book holds three single-reactor 'smart' modules (no power on their own until joined), a tileable 2-reactor piece worth 160 MW and two 8-reactor plants of about 1.1 GW, one marked by the designer as the less efficient version.

Copy the string and press Import string on the shortcut bar in the game, then paste. It was exported from the Factorio 2.0 version shown above. This site decoded it and counted the reactors, exchangers and turbines, but did not import it in the game; check the designer's notes above for water and start-up needs.
